Task for Monday 16th January

Hello students!

Vamos a aprender el PAST SIMPLE. Este tiempo verbal sirve para hablar, por ejemplo, de lo que hicimos ayer; es decir, para hablar del pasado.

Hay dos tipos de verbos:

• Regulares: Al infiniitivo del verbo se le añade "-ed". Mira la página 45 del workbook y podrás ver las reglas de ortografía (spelling rules) para añadir la "-ed".

• Irregulares: Son verbos que no siguen una regla fija. Os los tenéis que aprender. Al final del workbook hay un listado que podéis usar para hacer la tarea que os propongo.

FIRST TERM INTERDISCIPLINARY PROJECTS

ANGLO-SAXONS

• GROUP 1: Who were they?

Where were they from?

Why did they go to England?

What did they bring with them?

Where did the newcomers settle?

TASK: Make a poster. Draw a map showing the journey they made from their countries to England. Draw a map of England and colour the places where they settled down. Draw the pictures of the things they brought with them.Include all the information learned from the questions.

• GROUP 2: Anglo-Saxon beliefs

Did they believe in any gods?

What did men’s graves include?

What were the Monasteries?

What did the monks do?

Why is Bede famous?

TASK: Make a poster. Find pictures of the main god Woden, and explain a little about it. Draw a man’s grave and explain what we can see. Draw a monk working. Include all the information learned from the questions.

• GROUP 3: Anglo-Saxon family life

Describe an Anglo-Saxon house

What did men wear?

What did women wear?

What jobs did people do?

TASK: Make a poster. Draw a picture of an Anglo-Saxon house. Draw a man and a woman showing their clothing. Draw a picture where we can see some of their jobs. Include all the information learned from the questions.

• GROUP 4: Boys and girls

What did Anglo-Saxon girls learn to do?

What did Anglo-Saxon boys learn to do?

What did the children play?

What happened when the husband died. Who took care of his wife?

TASK: Make a poster. Draw a picture with an Anglo-Saxon girl learning to do things. Draw a picture with an Anglo-Saxon boy learning to do things. Include all the information learned from the questions.
